Bon Jovi are set to play a free show at Central Park in New York City, two days before their upcoming dates at Madison Square Garden (July 14/15).
The New Jersey rockers willl perform in the city park on July 12 to celebrate the July 15 Major League Baseball All-Star game, and will commemorate the final season at Yankee Stadium[b], which is set to be demolished.
Singer [b]Jon Bon Jovi confirmed the show this afternoon (June 30) alongside New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who said the event will happen on the Great Lawn, the capacity of which is 60,000.
Tickets for the event will be made available from July 2 at Yankee and Shea Stadiums as well as the homes of the Brooklyn Cyclones and Staten Island Yankees, and will also be given away in radio contests and in store promotions.
Some tickets will also be available at MLB.com.
